| How to study for Biology | Mrs. Doran's tips Use the learning targets that I hand out at the beginning of the year! You can find the learning targets for each unit on the webpage for your class! Check them off as we go through the chapter. If you can't say “I can” for any of the statements-then you need to ask for help!!!!! Make note cards-put the term on one side and the definition on the other. Keep the information on the note card simple. Make a quiz up from your notes Make a quiz up from the questions that you have done in class. Try to do the quizzes first without looking back at the answers! Find a study partner! Quiz each other orally! The more that you say the information outloud-the more you will remember it. (think about when you learned the ABC'S-you sang it outloud and you still remember it!) If there are going to be diagrams on the test-make a copy of the diagram, white out the answers and then practice labeling it. Do it once a day until you have mastered it. Come in and get help during 2nd hour, C-lunch or 5th hour! Other times are welcome by appointment! Use the resources on this website! Ask if you get confused!
